Rainy day activities (particularly for children)
Although La Maison du Chateau is beautiful in the sun, if it disappears for a while, there is no need to despair! Not only can you still swim in the rain, wander round the park with an umbrella, enjoy the river and the boat, but if you would rather stay dry, there are also a number of options both on and off site.
Onsite there is the drawing room with a log fire where adults can relax, the petit salon and large studio room are perfect for children to play in, either with toys you have brought or the board games, cards, and toys provided. There is also a grand piano for anyone who is feeling musical.
Off site there are of course wine tasting trips, visiting the beautiful chateau and fortified towns in the area, or you could go further afield for a day trip to Paris or Dijon.
There is Bowling at Le Quattro, Saint Remy (10 mins) - great for families.
The Centre Nautique Amphitrite, Montbard (15 mins) is a collection of indoor pools with slides, water based activities and a laned 25m pool.
The Grottes (caves) at Ancy-sur-Cure are a collection of 11 prehistoric caves first explored 150 years ago. As well as exploring the caves you'll see numerous cave paintings and examples of the many treasures uncovered over the years.
Cardo Land, near Chamoux, on the other side of Vezelay is a wooded valley which invites you to take a trip 600 millon years into the past. There are 28 displays with, actual size, dinosaurs, a prehistoric village, a museum and an adventure playground.
