Bridge Holidays at La Maison du Chateau Bridge image small Studio room - view C small Pre-dinner drinks in Drawingroom thumbnail

La Maison du Chateau has proven itself to be a wonderful place for Bridge Holidays. The house itself is elegant, warm and comfortable, with a log fire in the drawing room. In a stunning, private setting, together with our fantastic full-time cook and lovely maids, you can relax and focus on playing bridge whenever you want.

Our 'salle de musique', on the first floor of the adjoining barn, with French windows leading down stone steps to the heated swimming, gardens and park beyond, provides a beautiful setting to sit together and play. Alternatively you may prefer a more intimate setting, playing in the Grand Salon or Petit Salon in the main house.

In between games, the 24-acre park is a wonderful place for walks, bordered on two sides by the wooded banks of the river Armancon, where we have a rowing boat and private fishing. There is a simple grass tennis court and a tall chestnut avenue leading to the back gates, with bird life and wild flowers in abundance. For those who wish to experience a little more of Burgundy, there are lovely walks and bicycle rides through the adjoining village, along the Burgundian Canal and up into the hills. There are also the historic towns and chateaux to visit, as well as the legendary vineyards and cellars of Chablis, Beaune and the southern champagne district, all well within an hour of the house. We can arrange wine tastings at home or off site and our cook is happy to share some of her 'secrets de la cuisine'. Golf, riding and hot-air ballooning are also available.

A special feature of holidays at La Maison du Chateau is the way such a delightful house party atmosphere is created. Dinner round the big dining room table is always great fun with wonderful local wines and our French cook Delphine's delicious cooking. On a fine day you can eat lunch outside under the trees by the pool, or Delphine will prepare an elegant picnic for you to take off site.

With the breathtaking Spring and Autumn colours, or the magic of the winter months with frost on the park, the log fire blazing in the salon and the house radiating warmth as evening approaches, La Maison du Chateau is a magical place to enjoy all year round.

There is a bridge holiday being run this year in September 5th - 12th by Claudia and Zeb Stocken and also one being run by them 4-11 June 2016. Further details here.
